[ Komaru's completely oblivious to his tone, because why wouldn't this be anything more than a friendly chat? It's totally not like she did something wrong or anything, so she has no reason to believe otherwise. And look, she's even flaunting her (limited) knowledge of Khura'inese just like Rayfa told her to! ]

[ That's enough to damper the cheeriness in her voice, but she tries to still maintain some degree of being chipper. ]

Honestly, Nora picked one that reminded her of her own home. She wrote a brief note in the card, too:]

I am truly honoured to be your friend. While in Khura'in, Christmas is not a tradition we celebrate, I still wished to give something to my esteemed friends. I do hope we will be able to become closer in the future.

[ It may be more than a week since Elios left behind his mess, and yet the cleaning organisations were still asking for people to take a provided ride to locations where large chunks of his icy walls hadn't yet been destroyed and needed to be dealt with sooner rather than later, especially with the hamlets that resided outside of the city.

And they had a small settlement not that far to their backs, a few trees dotting the space between the clearing and the ice they'd come to work on, and quite a few hands were out there to help, the crates of equipment close together, of jackhammers, blowtorches, some pickaxes too... ]

Hey-- [ and this kid--a boy just a few years younger than Komaru, really--is holding one of the clunky blow torches close to him, attempting to get her attention by leaning slightly towards her view. ] Have you been to one of these before? Is there anything, you know... funny about them? Emotionally?

[ Someone missed the details about that, and it's a good and safe question to ask, ok. ]

...Hm? [ Komaru blinks a few times in surprise, not expecting the boy trying to get her attention, as well as leaning close to do so. She takes one of the blowtorches as well and turns to face him, giving him a sheepish smile. ] Oh, sorry. I don't really know myself. This is my first time doing this, too...but I guess it could still have effects?

[ After all Elios did to the island, she wouldn't be surprised if there was still some residual. ]

We should be careful, just in case. We can look out for each other.

[ The surprise he shows is brief, blinked away by the smile and nods he gives at her suggestion, all the more happy to have someone to stick close to out here. ]

Mm! The ice around the city hasn't been so bad to deal with, and I heard a lot there happened when Elios was being distracted. But this stuff must've been thicker than whatever he did there.

[ Something about bird nests, but Red didn't know too many details. He points towards the direction that others have already been going, slipping in- ] You ready?

[ They could start walking to, if so. ]

Ah... Were you one of those who went to lure Elios away from the island? [ There's a hint of curiosity and interest in her voice when she asks that. If he didn't witness it personally, she can only make that assumption. ] You're right, though. It was...pretty bad. A lot of people had to end up evacuating to Shaarnath and Theasthai because it was so dangerous.

[ At his question, she nods in agreement and holds the blowtorch close. While she's never exactly used one, she thinks it should relatively be the same as using one of her Burn bullets in her megaphone. ]

Yep, I'm ready! We can go in.

[ She'll start walking towards the entrance, but slow enough that he can catch up and they can walk alongside each other. ]

[ Then they can walk, while at the same time, he can get to her question. ]

Yeah, I... [ Helped manufacture that idea? Was one of those who thought it'd be a good idea to speak to Elios? There's a sheepish look about him, not sure about what to say, but he tries as he stutters out a laugh. ] I'm friends with the reps who were involved, Nagito Komaeda and Usagi Tsukino! Peromei and Elios's reps, but Sosyne's helped us out too, and Daimonia's was around as well. I sometimes announce the rituals for the centre staff over the crystals.

[ He waves a hand, the crystal he wears around it--just a normal-looking rock, with a lavender shade to it--visible under a sleeve, like she might be prompted to recognise his mental voice for his real one. He takes a safe hold of the torch again. ]

What about you? Did you get stuck in the city or go to one of the others?

I'm friends with Komaeda-san and Usagi-chan, too! [ Her eyes light up in excitement, and she can't help feeling she's found a kindred spirits, of sorts, just because they have mutual friends. ] And if you announce the rituals, that means you made the post with Komaeda-san last month, right? About Elios, and Peromei's condition. I attended the rituals for Peromei.

[ She at least remembers hearing that particular announcement for the rituals. ]

I wouldn't exactly say I was stuck, but I chose to stay in Verens. ...I couldn't just run away while I had friends stuck here who needed help. [ Perhaps she would have before - evacuated to one of the cities where it was safe, because she was scared of the danger - but she's changed quite a bit from the terrified girl she used to be. ]

[ The feeling is mutual in a way, the way Red's face brightens too upon hearing she knows the pair. It's pretty exciting when you meet someone who knows the same people are you! ]

Really? Thanks for coming! All those rituals helped Peromei out by the looks of things. She was tired when she got to us, but I don't think she would have without everyone's help!

[ And even Sosyne was able to keep her head together during the whole fiasco, as difficult at times it had been. It's a genuine feeling of gratitude. ]

But you're right, that was me with him. I wanted to help him talk, but... [ He looks away, tipping his head slightly. ] I was more tired than I thought after the trip.

[ It makes him feel a little guilty, but nothing he was going to sit on, looking back over to the older girl. ]

They're going to be holding more soon. I think... from the ninth? To give people time to settle and meet anyone from home. [ Which should be happening soon, shouldn't it... ] We can always do with anyone who can come along if you can make any again!
